Yizhou district strives to improve people's livelihoods

In recent years, Yizhou district of Hechi has promoted and improved people's livelihoods through infrastructure construction spanning water, electricity, roads, houses, and networks to enhance the foundation of its rural economic development.

In 2019, the district invested 41.75 million yuan ($5.88 million) to build 71 village roads spanning 125.2 kilometers, 15 water conservancy sites, 21 industrial roads spanning 30.1 km, 43 protective barriers spanning 57.8 km, and 10 drains spanning 13.72 km. A total of 134 basic power projects in impoverished areas have been completed, with a total investment of 46.19 million yuan.

Power supply, as well as networks and mobile phone signals have fully covered the urban area and all 210 administrative villages (communities) in the district.

The district has also focused on improving its rural environment. In 2019, it invested 2.38 million yuan to the construction of 132 villages, completing 14 projects of village-level garbage collection and transshipment treatment facilities, as well as 10 projects of township domestic garbage treatment centers.

As of May 13, Yizhou district has spent a special fiscal fund of 66.72 million yuan on poverty alleviation infrastructure projects, completing 19 industrial roads spanning 40.68 km, three drinking water projects, 11 protective barriers projects spanning 22.26 km, and one drain spanning 0.27 km.
