Online reading activities launched for World Book and Copyright Day
Hechi National Library is carrying out a set of online activities with Guangxi Library and several well-known reading platforms to mark the upcoming 25th World Book and Copyright Day, which falls on April 23.
Main activities include 21 online popular science lectures, online reading competitions, cultural and tourism-related award-winning essay activities, parent-child reading activities, as well as public digital cultural service promotion activities that recommend various cultural tourism digital resources.
In order to reach readers, Hechi National Library has used platforms like its official website and WeChat public account to launch free digital resources including encyclopedias, children’s picture books, and a digital library APP, releasing publicity information for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic prevention and control measures to guide readers to do personal protection work and popularize infomration, as well as carrying out online recommendation and listening activities for the public.
According to statistics, during the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control period, the library has 28,182 visits on its mobile terminal, 3,581 visits on its official website, and 2,548 visits on its WeChat public account. There were 786 downloads of electronic documents and 13,664 views of digital resources.
In addition, bookstores in the city will also participate in World Book and Copyright Day activities. Many bookstores have reopened while implementing strong measures for COVID-19 epidemic prevention, providing online and offline purchase services to the public.
