After fighting the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic for 35 days in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, and completing a 14-day centralized isolation in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 17 members of the anti-epidemic medical team from Hechi returned home on April 8.
The Hechi government sent chartered buses to Nanning to pick up the 17 medics on April 7 and held a ceremony at the cultural square in Jinchengjiang district on this morning to show great respect and warm welcome to the heroes of the city.
During their stay in Wuhan, the 17 medical members from Hechi along with Guangxi's sixth batch of medical teams had admitted a total of 34 patients infected with COVID-19, of which 32 were critically ill. By the end of their stay, 24 patients were cured and discharged, while no medical workers were infected.
