Hechi launches online activities for Sanyuesan Festival celebration

Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has launched a series of online activities to celebrate the 2020 Sanyuesan Festival due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia.

Sanyuesan, which refers to the third day of the third month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, is a traditional festival for many ethnic groups across China. This year's festival kicked off on March 26 and will last until April 26.

Cultural activities, such as an online folk song competition, online exhibition halls, as well as quizzes on ethnic culture and information regarding epidemic prevention and control, are being carried out to display the rich ethnic culture and the unique folk culture in Hechi.

Short video and aerial photo contests will also be held to demonstrate Hechi’s beautiful natural scenery to attract more visitors.

Sports activities like competitions in bridge, weiqi, Chinese chess, chess, and checkers will take place to add more enjoyment for people during the festive celebrations, along with online physical fitness classes.

In addition, the city will carry out sales promotion activities, including e-commerce live streaming and issuing discount cards, to stimulate offline consumption and online sales of products, especially on special local products.

More than 400 commercial and trading enterprises and service firms, as well as 20,000 online and offline stores, will take part in the sales promotion activities.
