Tian'e awards $1.44m to characteristic demonstration areas
Tian'e county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region awarded a total of 10 million yuan ($1.44 million) to its 35 modern characteristic industrial demonstration areas and four farmers specialized cooperatives.
The award was given at the county's work conference on agricultural and rural affairs held on March 5, and the award amount is the largest reward in the development history of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers in Tian'e.
The awarded modern characteristic industrial demonstration areas include two agricultural core demonstration areas at the autonomous region level in 2019, one demonstration area for modern characteristic agriculture at the county level in 2019, eight agricultural demonstration parks at the township level in 2019, and 24 agricultural demonstration sites at the village level in 2019.
In recent years, Tian'e has laid great emphasis on the three issues of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers by advancing public infrastructure construction in its rural areas, improving rural public services, and boosting rural governance.
In addition, the county has been promoting the development of the 10 poverty alleviation industries by establishing modern characteristic industrial demonstration areas to help sustainable agricultural development, increase incomes of farmers, as well as lay a solid foundation for winning the battle against poverty and building a moderately well-off society in an all-round way.
To date, Tian'e has six modern characteristic agricultural demonstration areas at the autonomous region level, ranking first among all the county-level districts and counties in Hechi.
There are also five modern characteristic agricultural demonstration areas at the county level in Tian'e, 21 at the township level, as well as 78 at the village level.
