Deals worth over $4.27m reached in Donglan

Deals worth more than 30 million yuan ($4.27 million) were reached at the promotion meeting for the village-level collective economic projects held in Donglan county, Hechi on Feb 18.

The event was carried out to ensure the sound development of the county's village-level collective economy in 2020 despite the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia.

A total of 22 enterprises took part in the event, with five signing up on site, and the recommended projects covered characteristic planting, livestock breeding, and leisure tourism.

Guangxi Donglan Guilong Ecological Agriculture Technology Co Ltd introduced its plantation project of edible fungi at the promotion meeting.

The advantage of the fungi project is that it can generate income in a very short time, said Huang Wenyue, general manager of the company.

"The cooperation between my company and villages can not only bring jobs to local residents, but also increase the collective economic income of villages," added Huang.

Donglan Cailanzi Agricultural Development Co Ltd reached a cooperation agreement with the county's Dongli village to jointly develop red tourism and homestays.

In 2019, Donglan invested 125 million yuan to support the development of village-level collective economic industries. By the end of 2019, the collective economic income of the 149 administrative village or communities in Donglan exceeded 40,000 yuan.
