Nation’s first confirmed novel coronavirus child patient cured

The child patient, who had been confirmed as the first child in China infected with the novel coronavirus, has been cured and was released from the People’s Hospital of Hechi on Feb 19 along with her mom and another female patient.

The three patients became the first group of patients to be cured and discharged from a hospital in the city.

The 2-year-old child patient returned to Jinchengjiang district, Hechi with her mom from Wuhan, Hubei province on Jan 21, and her symptoms began with a fever the next day. She was sent to the People’s Hospital of Hechi early in the morning on Jan 23, and was confirmed to be carrying the novel coronavirus on the second day of her stay.

The 33 year old patient went to his mother-in-law’s home in Huanjiang on Jan 20 for the Spring Festival, and exhibited the symptoms of a fever and a dry cough on Jan 27. He was required to go to a hospital for examination by government officials on Jan 28, and was confirmed to be carrying the novel coronavirus on Jan 30, being the first confirmed case in Huanjiang.
