Huangjiang opens psychological counseling hotlines
Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in Hechi recently opened hotlines to provide psychological counseling services for people during the period of the control and prevention of novel coronavirus pneumonia.
The services are aimed to alleviate the psychological pressure caused by the epidemic and prevent emergencies caused from psychological pressure.
A service team, consisting of 11 professional psychological counselors, social workers, and volunteers who have received professional training in psychology, has been set up to provide free psychological counseling services for Huanjiang residents.
“We hope that we can alleviate some of the bad emotions caused by the epidemic, as well as enhance our confidence and determination to fight against the virus by providing the psychological counseling services,” said Meng Liu, secretary of the Huanjiang committee of the Communist Youth League.
Qin Lingling, a social worker from Guangxi Handa Social Work Service Center, said, “Our team hopes to help the front line workers, patients and their relatives, as well as suspected patients to solve their psychological pressures through the hotlines, so that they can take the epidemic positively and seriously.”
