Hechi makes good preparations for spring plowing

Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been making preparations for orderly spring plowing and sowing, while doing its best to prevent and control novel coronavirus pneumonia, according to the city’s agriculture and rural affairs bureau.

Agricultural resources, such as rice and corn seeds, as well as fertilizers, agricultural films, and pesticides, have been well prepared in the city.

By Feb 11, Hechi has prepared 603,800 kilograms of hybrid rice seeds, accounting for 48 percent of the total requisite amount, and 554,200 kg of high quality rice seeds, making up 52 percent of the requisite amount. The amount of prepared hybrid corn seeds was 1.65 million kg, amounting to 74.45 percent of the city's total requisite amount.

A total of 208,700 metric tons of fertilizer has been ready for this year's spring plowing and sowing by Feb 11, making up 82 percent of the city's requisite amount.

The city has also prepared 782 tons of agricultural films and pesticides, accounting for 84 percent and 60 percent respectively of the requisite amount.

According to the person in charge of Hechi’s agriculture and rural affairs bureau, the city will ensure the adequate supply of all kinds of agricultural resources to meet the needs of spring plowing despite the current novel coronavirus outbreak.
