Yizhou receives over 2.4m yuan in donations for virus fight

People in Yizhou district of Hechi have been making donations to help in the district's prevention and control efforts of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) since the NCP outbreak.
From Jan 31 to Feb 8, Yizhou district has received a variety of goods, materials, and donations equivalent to more than 2.4 million yuan ($343,691).
Wei Lijuan, a businesswoman in Yizhou, donated 200 boxes of hot and sour rice noodles, as well as 100 boxes of wood charcoal to officers on the front line of the fight against the disease in the district.
She noted that she saw some of the officers on duty working very hard in her WeChat Moments, and wanted to pay her respects to these who have made contributions to protecting the public's health and safety.
The businessman Qiao Bei also donated 1,000 jin (half a kilogram) in machine-made charcoal, which were originally intended for sale.
"When I passed by some intersections, I saw those police officers and medical workers were fulfilling their duty in risking their lives to fight the virus for us, and wanted to show a token of my appreication," said Qiao.
