Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in Hechi recently adopted a slew of measures to improve public awareness of the novel coronavirus and increase the county's capacity to control the spread of the disease.

The county in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has issued about 100,000 copies of a notification for coronavirus prevention, sent more than 1.2 million messages to its residents, and put up 650 promotional banners and 100 publicity boards.

Loudspeakers, broadcasts and publicity vans were also used to pass on information on the control and prevention of coronavirus to people in the county.

In addition, a folk song was composed and recorded to spread information on virus prevention and control.

"Through multiple channels to give more publicity to information on coronavirus control and prevention, a strong epidemic prevention and control atmosphere has been formed throughout the county," said Wei Luhua, head of the county's publicity bureau.
