Hechi receives 3 million yuan in donations for coronavirus control

On Feb 2, leaders of the Hechi government received donated funds and materials from Guangxi Hechi Medical Devices Co, Nanfang Nonferrous Metals Group, Danquan Wine Group and Dongxing Lianjiang Chamber of Commerce, with a total value exceeding 3 million yuan ($427,978.37).

Guangxi Hechi Medical Devices Co donated protective materials worth 1.1 million yuan to the city, including disposable surgical and medical masks, protective clothing, and medical gloves. These materials will be uniformly allocated to 11 counties and districts in Hechi.

Nanfang Nonferrous Metals Group and Danquan Wine Group donated 1 million yuan to support coronavirus control in Hechi. The funds will be used by the Hechi Red Cross in a unified plan to purchase medical materials.

In addition, the Lianjiang Chamber of Commerce of Dongxing city, Hechi donated 50,000 masks to help the fight against the coronavirus infection.

Wei Zhaohui, deputy mayor of Hechi, said at the donation ceremony that these medical supplies will be a significant help and that now is the most critical period in the fight against the outbreak.
