Per capital income of Luocheng farmers expected to rise by 11%

The average per capita annual income of farmers in Luocheng Mulao autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in 2019 is expected to see a yearly growth of 11 percent to 8,931 yuan ($1,298), according to the county's work report.

The work report was released at the fourth session of the ninth Congress of Luocheng Mulao Autonomous County of the Communist Party of China, which was held on Jan 10.

In 2019, modern industries and the 10 poverty alleviation industries, including walnuts, fruit, tea-oil trees, sugar canes, mulberry, and Chinese chestnuts, saw rapid development.

Three demonstration bases for tea-oil trees, each of which covers over 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares), were established in the county in 2019, as well as 38 bases for sugar canes and more than 20 fruit bases, each spanning an area of over 1,000 mu.

The first second-level seed breeding base for sugar canes in Hechi was also set up in Luocheng.

To date, there have been a total of 167 modern agricultural demonstration zones or parks in the county. In addition, the covering area of characteristic industries has reached 2.6 million mu.

Incentive and subsidy policies for the beef cattle industry were released in Luocheng. By the end of 2019, the amount of beef cattle in the county totaled 38,000, while the number of cattle enterprises or cooperatives with annual primary business revenue of 20 million yuan or more exceeded 50.

Relying on its rich forest resources, Luocheng also boosted the development of its forestry economy in 2019. The annual output value of the county's forestry economy in 2019 reached 820 million yuan, benefiting 148,000 people.

In addition, transfer of rural laborers was also a great emphasis in 2019 in Luocheng, with 3,921 new labor forces in the county finding employment through transfers.

There were 23,900 registered impoverished people that were lifted out of poverty in 2019, as well as 32 poverty-stricken villages. The incidence of poverty was reduced to 2.2 percent from 10.4 percent.
