Offline, online shopping festival kicks off in Dahua
The first e-commerce shopping festival for special Spring Festival purchases kicked off in Dahua Yao autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Jan 12, lasting until Jan 31.
The festival is one of the county's efforts to promote the development of its nighttime economy, as well as boost poverty alleviation efforts through consumption.
Both offline and online platforms have been organized for this festival.
A sales exhibition is under way, boasting over ten thousands local characteristic products on sale, most of which are poverty alleviation agricultural products and traditional folk crafts.
The online shopping mall "Yuanwei Hongshui River" has also launched several activities to attract people to visit the county's tourist attractions, as well as publish relevant contents on social media.
Since the release of the relevant information regarding the shopping festival on Jan 1, orders of more than 5 million yuan ($725,322) for products have been made.
In recent years, Dahua has been developing its e-commerce industry with the establishment of the county-level public service center for the China (Dahua) Hongshui River E-commerce City, as well as e-commerce logistics and service stations at the 16 townships of the county.
The development of rural e-commerce, targeted at sales of agricultural products, has been recently advanced to help lift impoverished people out of poverty, as well as promote economic transformation and upgrading.
In 2019, the Dahua E-commerce City helped sell over 10 million yuan in poverty alleviation agricultural products, benefiting more than 1,800 poverty-stricken households.
