Yizhou focuses on rural transportation construction in 2019

Yizhou district in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been boosting the construction of transportation infrastructure in its rural areas in recent years, aiming to address issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, as well as promoting poverty alleviation efforts.

Maintenance projects like the reparation of bituminous pavement and road greening for highways in Yizhou's rural areas, which total a length of 1,103.53 kilometers, were carried out in 2019 and funded with 5.24 million yuan ($751,535).

Construction of the second-class highway that connects the urban area and Longtou township in Yizhou is also in full swing. It is planned to be about 70.5 km long, with an investment of 443.37 million yuan. In 2019, the highway completed an annual investment of 123.96 million yuan.

The life safety protection projects along the seven county and township roads in Yizhou were completed by 2019 with an investment of 3.68 million yuan. Similar projects along the 10 village roads have started construction.

A total of 1.34 million yuan was invested in 2019 to handle traffic congestion problems in the district with the completion of a 2.4 km road between Da'an township and Nawang village.

In addition, 12 newly built villages in Yizhou completed the task of connecting busses in 2019, meeting the district's annual target.

By the end of 2019, 167 of the 180 administrative villages in Yizhou had connected busses, with a bus passing rate of 92.78 percent.
