Hechi's smart terminal project goes into operation

The completion ceremony of the phase one project for the smart terminal product by Guangxi Huawei Technology Co Ltd was held in Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, Hechi on Dec 25.

The project fills the gap of the electronic technology industry in Hechi, and is of great significance to promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of the city, advance high-quality industrial development, as well as boost the city's poverty alleviation efforts.

The overall project is scheduled to have an investment of 1 billion yuan ($142.7 million), with 12 production lines. When it is finished, it is expected that more than 5,000 people can be resettled and employed.

The smart terminal products will be sold to over 30 countries and regions around the world, generating an annual output value of more than 4 billion yuan.

The phase one project has an annual output of 20 million smart terminal products.

In recent years, Hechi has been promoting its industrial transformation and upgrading by developing strategic emerging industries and boosting innovation.

More than 5.6 billion yuan was invested by the city to build the ecological circular economy industrial park, Daren Industrial Park, introducing about 20 enterprises.

Guangxi Chaowei Xinfeng Energy Co Ltd has been devoted to building an industrial chain that integrates the research and development (R&D) and production of new-type accumulators and new energy vehicles, as well as the recycling of used batteries.

When the project is completed, it is estimated that it will have an annual output value of 10 billion yuan.

Nanfang Nonferrous Metals Group has invested about 2 billion yuan in the past few years into R&D and to introduce the world's most advanced production lines to transform itself into an eco-friendly enterprise. In 2018, the sales revenue of Nanfang exceeded 15 billion yuan.

In December, the unmanned aerial vehicle production base of Guangxi Zhuangzhi Xiongxin Technology Development Co settled in the city's Du'an county.
