Exhibition on devoted doctors kicks off in Hechi
An exhibition, which displays pictures related to doctors from Tianjin who devoted themselves to supporting the medical development of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, kicked off in Hechi on Dec 24 and will last for four days.
From November 1969 to August 1970, about 2,000 doctors from Tianjin and over 8,000 of their family members moved from cities with good conditions to the 176 outlying communities in 73 counties in Guangxi, aiming to offer medical assistance for the region.
Among them, more than 300 doctors came to Hechi, making arduous efforts and selfless contributions to treating diseases for farmers, as well as training rural doctors, which laid a solid foundation for the development of the city’s health services.
Wei Zulin, deputy mayor of Hechi, paid a high tribute to these people who have made positive contributions to the construction of a healthy Hechi at the launching ceremony of the exhibition.
