Teaching equipment worth $1.8m donated to Hechi

The Tao Xingzhi Education Foundation donated a batch of teaching equipment worth 12.66 million yuan ($1.8 million) to the 323 middle and primary schools in Hechi, with the donation ceremony held in the city's Jinchengjiang district on Dec 12.

Su Xinying, president of the Tao Xingzhi Education Foundation, expressed his hope that the truly modern educational resources can be provided to children and teachers of Hechi through this donation.

It is also hoped that high-quality educational resources from Beijing, Shanghai, as well as Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong province can be brought to more schools and children in remote areas to promote the balanced development of urban and rural education, added Su.

He Xinxing, Party secretary of Hechi, expressed his thanks to the Tao Xingzhi Education Foundation, which has carried out various forms of targeted poverty alleviation and education public welfare activities, making great contributions to bolstering education in impoverished areas.

He added that the foundation's donations will provide strong supports for Hechi in its poverty alleviation efforts, as well as promote the high-quality development of the city's education.

The Tao Xingzhi Education Foundation was founded in December 1984 under the approval of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. It aims to carry forward the educational thoughts of Tao Xingzhi, who actively advocated rural education in China in the early 20th century.

Since its establishment, the foundation has carried out a large number of public welfare activities in education, contributing to the development of China's education.
