Measures taken to advance poverty alleviation industries
Luocheng Mulam autonomous county in the city of Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been taking measures to advance the development of its poverty alleviation industries in recent years.
Financial and technical supports, as well as diversified market channels have been provided for people in the county.
Tea-oil trees, sugarcane, fruit, silkworms, and beef cattle are recognized as key poverty alleviation industries in the county. Impoverished households involved in these industries can be funded a maximum of 10,000 yuan ($1,415) each year, while those families who have been lifted out poverty can receive a yearly maximum fund of 5,000 yuan.
A total of 429 industrial development instructors were arranged for the 82 poverty-stricken villages in the county, guiding poor households in choosing industries scientifically and carrying out technical guidance.
Luocheng has also taken measures to expand market channels for agricultural products in the county. E-commerce platforms were made to establish an online and offline marketing system. Since 2016, Xiannong E-commerce Co Ltd alone has sold 120 million yuan in agricultural products through its online shopping mall.
To date, the planting or breeding area for the county's poverty alleviation industries has exceeded 2.6 million mu (173,333 hectares), with an industrial coverage rate of 98.8 percent.
In the first three quarters of this year, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in the county was 5,846 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.8 percent.
