Nandan county in Hechi was the first county in the city to be lifted out of poverty in 2017, a product of its remarkable poverty alleviation efforts.

Promoting employment of impoverished people has been one of the measures that the Nandan government has taken to relieve poverty.

A poverty alleviation industrial park was established in Bawei Yao ethnic town in the county at the beginning of 2019 to stabilize the incomes of poor households that have been relocated.

Zhu Libin, manager of a clothing factory at the industrial park, said that his factory has employed more than 100 local poor people, who could earn an average daily income of 80 ($11.31) to 100 yuan, as well as enjoy governmental subsidies for meals and free accommodation.

To date, there have been five enterprises settled in the industrial park, covering three clothing factories and two electronic component assembly plants. The number of workers here exceeds 500.

The industrial park in Bawei Yao ethnic town is planned to cover an area of 2,000 mu (133.33 hectares), including 240 mu for the first phase of construction.
