Cultural tourism festival to kick off in Yizhou

The 10th Liusanjie Cultural Tourism Festival will kick off on Oct 18 in Yizhou district, Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and last until Nov 30.

Liusanjie ("Third Sister Liu") refers to the legendary female folk singer of Guangxi's Zhuang ethnic group, who is very good at singing. Liusanjie ballad culture was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritages in 2006.

This year's festival will highlight the ethnic characteristics of the region. It will feature 12 activities, including the opening ceremony of the event, design competitions for cultural creative products and tourist commodities, performances, as well as symphony concerts.

The event, which began in 2010, has become a famous brand promoting the development of cultural tourism in Yizhou and to carry forward the fine traditions of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
