Hechi migrant workers receive travel support
Wait times for train tickets during Spring Festival will not even be the longest of the year for some fortunate migrant workers from Hechi working in Guangdong province – on Jan 27, 1,050 people were offered free tickets and direct trips home.

Hechi sends most of its laborers to Guangdong, which is currently home to about 280,000 migrant workers from the city, some of whom come from poor families.
To help the migrant workers cope with the Spring Festival travel rush, known as Chunyun in Chinese, the Human Resources and Social Security Departments of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Guangdong province launched an activity with the help of the Shenzhen Welfare Lottery Issuance Center to make traveling easier for them.
A total of 1,050 people deemed "most in need" were given free breakfasts before boarding their trains. Meanwhile, 19 designated buses were put on standby in Jinchengjiang district, Hechi to transport them home.
Local officials said that Hechi plans to increase the vocational training of its laborers and send more skilled workers to Guangdong and other developed regions. Migrant workers are also encouraged to return home and start businesses there.
