Hechi enjoys stable employment growth
Hechi has created 16,026 new urban jobs over the past 11 months, exceeding the annual employment target set by the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region ahead of schedule.
A proactive employment policy has been effective in the city and led to 4,857 resettlements of laid-off workers while helping 2,175 people who are considered difficult to find jobs from January to November.
Furthermore, the transfer of rural labor force employed 58,462 people, also surpassing the goal set by the region, according to the municipal human resources and social security bureau.
The registered urban unemployment rate was just under 2.41 percent, 2.09 percentage points lower than the regional target.
So far, 143 job fairs have been organized, including seasonal career fairs and recruitment activities set especially for private companies. Meanwhile, the city made full use of the greater capability of Shenzhen in Guangdong province in absorbing the labor force; 5,814 Hechi residents were sent to work there.
Four entrepreneurship parks were newly opened for innovative migrant workers, attracting 5,028 people.
Public service jobs have employed 1,262 people citywide who were granted post allowances of 18.38 million yuan ($2.68 million) and social insurance subsidies of 12.45 million yuan. College graduates are also eligible for the government subsidies no matter whether they find jobs or start their own businesses. About 2.3 million yuan were rewarded to over 2,000 graduates.
In Hechi, there are 40 fixed-point training institutions designated for short-term vocational skill training. From January to November, 14,488 of 20,831 workers trained at the organizations received qualification certificates.
