Du'an specialties popular at Shenzhen tourism fair

Lotus root silk noodles, wild grape wine and other specialties and handicrafts unique to Du'an Yao autonomous county sold out instantly when put on display at the 5th Shenzhen International Tourism Expo.

The autonomous county, under the administration of Hechi city in the northwest of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, took part in the annual professional exhibition for the first time.

Other local products, including soybeans, granulated sugar and writing-painting paper, also disappeared quickly, proving the existence of a substantial market for Du'an products.

Du'an rattan-weaved products contain sophisticated knitting techniques and prove a particular highlight at the 5th Shenzhen International Tourism Expo from Nov 23 to 25.

Du'an's subterranean river national geo park, Chengjiang national wetland park, and Sandao Bay international resort were also in the spotlight at the expo, with boutique travel routes recommended to participants.

A specially-made publicity video gave an overview of Du'an while offering an insight into the county's significant changes over the past six decades since the founding of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Visitors sample Du'an wild grape wine while listening to an explanation of the special processing details.

Du'an officials, company representatives, and other delegates also exchanged ideas with industry professionals through a series of activities such as dialogues, forums, seminars, conferences and project matchmakings.

The 5th China (Shenzhen) International Tourism Expo was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from Nov 23 to 25 and sponsored by the Shenzhen Tourism Association. It has been successfully held four years in a row.

The plain packaging does not affect the sales of Du'an specialties, many of which are considered good for one's health.

The high-level tourism expo is an eye opener for industry players in Du'an who are determined to borrow advanced methods to promote the bountiful tourism resources of the autonomous county.
