Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county is a world natural heritage site but also suffers from high levels of poverty. It is hoped, however, that all its residents will be lifted out of poverty by 2019.

To boost confidence, the county organized an oath-taking rally to rouse the masses and government officials to take part in the movement and ensure the goal is reached as scheduled. At the rally, the government commended 22 advanced units and 88 individuals, and held a donation drive, receiving a total of 375,900 yuan ($54221.3), which will be used to help the poor.
