The 2018 Hechi (Nandan) Red Kiwifruit Online Promotion & the Nandan Red Kiwifruit Brand Promotion Conference were held in Nandan county of Hechi city on Aug 21. Their aim was to establish a characteristic brand to accelerate the kiwi industry and increase the income of farmers.
The Nandan red kiwifruit industry has grown steadily in recent years, and has become one of the characteristic commercial pillars of the county. With a planting area of 13,500 mu (900 hectares) and fruiting area of over 3,000 mu, Nandan is the largest red kiwifruit producer in Guangxi.

With an estimated output of more than one million kilograms, the county's red kiwifruits are expected to achieve a total value of 40 million yuan ($5.87 million) this year. In order to extend the shelf life of the fruit, Nandan introduced advanced cold storage techniques, which alleviated challenges in sales and provided technical support for the further development of the industry.
With more thorough marketing of Guangxi specialties throughout the country, the Department of Commerce of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has determined to stimulate the development of the Nandan red kiwifruit industry by policy support. Additionally, the department has opened the sales market and enriched sales channels to elevate the fruit's visibility.
