Northwest China's Yizhou district of Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has witnessed continuous growth in tourism over the past years.
The district received over 2.7 million visitors from home and abroad in the first half of this year, a year-on-year growth of 28.69 percent, while total tourism consumption was about 4.4 billion yuan ($647.5 million), an increase of 36.05 percent over the same period last year.
Yizhou has made efforts to promote the famous characteristic tourism counties of Guangxi, a suggestion put forward by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2013. Meanwhile, Yizhou has focused on cultural tourism by widely carrying out patterns of "tourism + cultural protection and inheritance activities" and "tourism + exploitation of tour commodity".
At the same time, the district has selected various top-quality tourist routes to enable accurate supervision by setting up demonstration villages for the One Village One Product program, which means every village takes its leading agricultural product with regional characteristics to the market. The demonstration villages will provide solid industrial support to the rural revitalization strategy, a national strategy to promote rural development.
