Paper-cuts celebrate 60th anniversary of Guangxi
Luo Huaqing, a Mulam paper-cut artist, finally completed her work Joyful Song of Bronze Drum on July 8, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The idea of producing paper-cut works to celebrate Guangxi's 60th anniversary sprung from the recent day when impoverished residents moved into their new houses provided by the government, according to Luo. She drew her inspiration from the moment she caught sight of the cheerful faces under the world's largest bronze drum, which was handed a world record certificate by Guinness in Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county of Hechi on June 29.
With a length of 100 centimeters and a width of 80 centimeters, Joyful Song of Bronze Drum vividly shows the happy and harmonious life of people in Guangxi.
