An animated series "Adventurous Journey of Karst" from Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county hit the market of Thailand on June 2, marking the first native cartoon of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to air in Thailand.

The serial is a co-production between the world natural heritage administration bureau of Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county and Guangxi Millennium Legend Film and Television Media Co.

According to a news release held in Thai CCTV (Central Chinese Television) on June 1, the cartoon will be broadcast at 18:45 every Saturday and Sunday from June 2.

It tells a story about a Maonan child with his friend, an elf who takes a journey along the Ancient Tea Horse Road, also known as the Southern Silk Road. The story originates from a Maonan myth "Looking for happiness".

The 26-episode series shows a breathtaking Karst world natural heritage and colorful Maonan ethnic culture. It went into production in August 2016, finished in October 2017 and premiered on Guangxi Satellite TV on Dec 22, 2017.

"The cartoon will showcase a featured minority culture to the Thailand audience. We are honored to deepen understandings between the two countries through cultural exchanges", said Fan Tingting, director of the Thai CCTV.
