Culture museum opens in Yizhou

The Liu Sanjie Culture Museum in Yizhou district of Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region—the birthplace of China's hugely popular folk singer—opened to the public on June 8.

The new museum, as a fully upgraded version of the original Yizhou Museum, is an multifunctional culture center integrating exhibition, research as well as education.

It is fundamental to Yizhou's blueprint of a museum-garden complex featuring Liu Sanjie culture.

Considered a legendary figure of the Zhuang people, Liu Sanjie (third sister in the Liu family) is admired not only for her beautiful voice but also for her moving but tragic love story, which has fascinated and inspired local residents so much that a cultural tourism festival has been named in her honor.

Via diversified forms of hall exhibition, outdoor interaction and culture excursion, the museum will enrich the spiritual legacies of Liu Sanjie with some modern themes.

The culture museum will also carry out joint programs with other tourism spots in Yizhou and draw more tourists from home and abroad to further promote the popularity of Yizhou city and Liu Sanjie.
