Fengshan walnut chicken appears in 'China Brand'

"China Brand", the first brand-themed event in China, aired on May 10, with Fengshan's signature walnut chicken representing the county in the "one county, one brand" activity. The event was jointly produced by China National Brand, Xinhuanet, and Hunan Satellite TV.

In the "one county, one brand" activity, Wei Jiangtuan, deputy county head of Fengshan county, Hechi city, introduced the delicacy to audiences and described the county's efforts to reduce poverty by developing its brand recognition.

Since 2016, Fengshan county has prioritized the farming of walnut chicken as a means to reduce poverty, making use of its rich forest resources. It established Guangxi Wanshougu Investment Co Ltd and invested a total of 250 million yuan ($39.31 million) into the development of a breeding ground for chickens and fodder, a cold-storage factory, and an e-commerce center.

In addition, the local government offers a range of services to chicken farmers, including technical guidance, brand building and marketing and sales. A complete industry chain has gradually been formed around chicken farming.

Fengshan walnut chicken has received a number of awards, including the Gold Award at the 2017 China International Health Industry Expo. It also made the list of "2017 special products of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region".

Currently, Wanshougu Walnut Chicken is sold in many supermarkets around the country, with a total of 2,206 sales outlets.
