In recent years, as a means of poverty-alleviation, Luocheng Mulam autonomous county in Hechi city has invested 25.7 million yuan ($4.04 million) in building a kiwi fruit demonstration park, with a total area of 1,200 mu (80 hectares).

This project has lifted 3,000 relocated households out of poverty, guaranteeing their livelihoods. It increased their income and developed the kiwi industry at the same time.

During the 13th Five-year Plan(2016-2020), the Luocheng Mulam autonomous county intends to grow 50,000 mu of kiwi vines. The goal is that every registered low-income household has at least one mu of kiwi vines as part of the anti-poverty program.
