In recent years, Luocheng Mulam autonomous county has taken steady steps in promoting infrastructure construction in rural areas.

All of the 141 administrative villages have achieved their objectives, which include the establishment of 11 cultural and sports facilities to enrich the lives of locals.

As part of its rural revitalization plan, Luocheng has vigorously advanced ecological construction, with a focus on improving the environment.

As of 2017, Luocheng has renovated 23,000 toilets, improving both the appearance and functionality, and has set up 18 waste disposal centers.

The county has increased the percentage of forest coverage to about 68.1 percent through the planting of 1,466.7 hectares worth of trees and recovering 16,000 hectares of desertified land.

An investment of 81.5 million yuan has been made into 64 safe drinking water projects in rural areas ($12.9 million), providing safe drinking water to 62,500 rural residents.

Other items include improving power and information infrastructure and building and upgrading 256 rural roads.
