The Baping Rice
Baping Rice has a long history and has been passed down from generation to generation for years. According to historical records, Baping Rice was given to the court by a local chieftain in the 3rd Yuanfeng year of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and was rewarded by the Song Emperor Shenzong. It passed the Chinese Landmark Trademark Certificate criteria in 2008, the Pollution-Free Origin & Product Certificate in 2011 and the Green Food Certificate in 2013.
Benefitting from a fresh climate high on the plateau, Baping Rice originates from the cold highland area in northwest Guangxi and the southern foot of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, at an altitude nearly 1,000 meters.
Baping village has a typical plateau climate. With greenery flourishing all year round, the village has adequate sunshine, abundant rainfall and large temperature difference between day and night. Rice has a growth period of 150 to 170 days and is planted in only one season each year.
Baping has unique viscous yellow mud with deep topsoil, fertile earth, a heavy soil texture, rich organics and various nutrients. It also holds water and fertilizer well, providing excellent growing conditions for good-quality rice.
There are no rivers in the area of Baping, so crops are irrigated by natural mountain springs. Mountain springs in the area are sweet, clean, and rich in minerals and trace elements that are beneficial to the body.
Yaojiazhuang’s Baping Rice adopts the development mode of “company + base + farmer”. The company constructs a complete industry chain from farmland to dining tables, conducts green standardization of production, forbids excessive heavy metal and pesticide residue and keeps away from chemical additives so as to realize the goal of “putting one’s mind into every pieces and giving reassurance to every dishes”.
