Sanyuesan Festival, which takes place on the third day of the third lunar month, is one of the most famous traditional festivals celebrated in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

This year's Sanyuesan Festival falls on April 14, and Guangxi is putting on an array of cultural and sporting events throughout the month-long celebration.

One of the key elements of the celebrations is the 2021 Sanyuesan Zhuang Ethnic Group Sport Carnival, which will be staged in Xing'an county, Guilin on April 14.

A total of nine themed activities will be organized, including an opening ceremony, sports competitions, interactive experiences, sports achievement displays, sporting law promotions and cultural tourism promotions.

The sports competitions will cover seven ethnic events like lion dancing, firecracker-snatching, stilt racing and "single bamboo drifting". Five hundred athletes from 12 cities across Guangxi have signed up for these events.

Apart from the offline events, an "online" marathon will also be hosted to display the tourism resources of Guang'an as well as promote running. Runners can join the race by uploading valid score credentials including screenshots of their run with clear dates, routes and timings using the "数字心动" app.
