Guangzhou Chujian Medical Devices Co signed an agreement online with the Qinbei district government via 5G technology on Feb 19 to produce anti-epidemic supplies in Qinbei district, Qinzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

According to Ding Yuequan, chairman of Guangzhou Chujian Medical Devices Co, it took less than 20 days from the proposal of the project to its signing. At present, with the assistance of the local government, the company has completed the project's preliminary work, such as plant construction and recruitment. The first production line will be put into operation at the end of this month.

After completion, the new company in Qinzhou will produce 300,000 disposable medical masks, 15,000 N95 medical protective masks, and 4,000 handheld thermometers per day.

The online signing event held in Qinzhou Huawei Cloud Town, China's first 5G Huawei digital town, is the first time that Guangxi has used 5G technology to carry out online signing activities. A total of 15 projects were signed, spanning the production of epidemic prevention medical materials, the big data industry, the platform economy, and emerging industries.

Yang Jinsong, director of the Qinzhou investment promotion bureau, noted that the online signing used a 5G high-speed network and new technology products, such as cloud platforms and 5G robotic arms, to gather the contracted representatives in the cloud despite they're being physically located in different places. The signing parties only needed to sign on the mobile phone on which the signing software was installed, and the on-site 5G robotic arm was able to simultaneously write their signatures on the contract text.

"In the future, we will continue to carry out special investment promotion activities for pharmaceutical companies and introduce a number of anti-epidemic materials production enterprises through smart technology platforms," said Yang Chunting, director of the Guangxi Investment Promotion Bureau.
