Longsheng Yao clothing

The creation of Longsheng Yao clothing are traditional handicrafts in the Yao villages of Heping town, Madi town, Sishui town, and Jiangdi town in Longsheng county of Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The main traditional techniques of Yao clothing production involve textiles, batik, and embroidery, all of which are handmade. Textiles are the technique of spinning and weaving. Batik refers to the drawing of various patterns on white cloth with boiling wax, and removing the wax after the cloth is dyed blue. Embroidery is used to make floral garments. The blue fabric is used as the base, and the embroidery patterns are created with various colors of silk threads.
The complete set of Longsheng Yao clothing, such as skirts, headscarves, belts, aprons, foot ties, shoes, purses, and other complete sets of clothing are all made with techniques involving textiles, batik, and embroidery.
On Nov 11, 2014, Longsheng Yao clothing were approved by the State Council and listed in the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage expansion projects.
